About

Hei!

I’m Aslihan, shortly Asli.

I’m a Turkish food & eating designer based in Helsinki and I am the blogger of My Dear Kitchen In Helsinki food blog. My company, Studio Oguz, is a design office that focuses on everything around food and aims to create a vibrant food community.

I came to Finland to do my master studies in Creative Sustainability in Aalto University.  I wrote my thesis on food, communication and community of practice(s) evolving around food related activities and an online food blog (the thesis is open to public and can be downloaded here).

My passion for food started after I came to Finland and I realised that food, cooking and eating together, are the most basic things that unite people from all cultures.

I call myself mostly eating designer, as “eating design” means all the interactions people have with and around food. That’s why I organise eating, cooking, baking events to give people the opportunity to be with others and share meaningful experiences. I also do catering for other events, with customised menus.

Contact me to get to know more about the services — or simply for a chat with a delicious cake! Cheers!
